Hemingway Rewritten – image width
-
Hi!
I’m using a Flickr link to show full-width images on my blog, but have noticed that the image width stretches out into the right column. Is there any way to trim images a bit or (what I’d prefer) move the column over? Or even stick the column on the left instead and have content on the right?
I don’t have CSS yet, but am definitely considering it.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please ignore this topic; it only appears to happen on the clunky, ancient heap on my desk at work. My home computer has no problems, nor does my husband’s.

*I know that you said to ignore this topic, but I just wanted to share this just in case it was connected with what you were talking about*
Hello Gem,
I am not sure if this is the same issue that you were talking about or not but some themes like Hemingway Rewritten do have a problem where the developers did not design these themes to properly handle linked/hot-linked images/images hosted somewhere else (images added by link/URL and not uploaded to the WordPress.com Media Library, and that are hosted somewhere else), and so images that are wider than the themes’ main dimensions will glitch across the themes possibly glitching across the sidebars and the entire theme depending on how wide they are:
For some strange reason(s) some themes are designed that way, which I seriously disagree with, but it does not seem like they will change this; but maybe if more people complained about it they would consider changing this because I rarely upload images to the WordPress.com Media Library, and I mostly use linked/hot-linked images/images hosted somewhere else for various reasons and I know that I am not the only person who does this.
Fortunately not all themes are designed like this, but it is unfortunate that a nice theme like Hemingway Rewritten was designed like this.
One way to resize linked/hot-linked images from within a post/page is to click the image and you will see a border with squares around the images, and you can drag different parts of the border to adjust the width and height.
Hopefully this is what you were talking about, but if not at least you now know one of several limitations/annoyances/issues/problems/bugs with this nice theme. ;)
