Hemingway Rewritten theme – Featured image not feauturing!

    Hi, I am using Hemingway Rewritten theme which supports featured images. I have set up featured image for my posts, but on the homepage, the featured image doesn’t show up. I can only see the text snippet. As a result the home page is quite frankly looking dull. Please help. The theme demo shows that images should be visible on the home page.

    Hi there,

    Only the featured image set for Sticky Posts shows up on the home page. Except for it, the featured images set for other posts show up only on the header of each post page.

    Yes, that is true, you are absolutely correct!

    In the theme page, https://wordpress.com/theme/hemingway-rewritten it tells us under Featured Header Images:

    If a Featured Image is assigned to a page or post, the image will appear in the header – otherwise, if you set a custom header it will be displayed

    So you can have either a Custom Header Image OR a Featured Image, but not both.

    Further in the Post Formats & Sticky Posts section, it says

    Featured images set for Sticky Posts are displayed on the blog and archives above the post content.

    So Sticky Posts on your blog WILL have their Featured Images show, but non sticky posts will not.

    Hello,
    I am likewise having trouble with having images on my homepage for each blog post (I’m using Hemingway Rewritten too). The featured images are not featuring. Only when I make the post a Sticky post does the featured image appear on the homepage. Please help!

    Hello @minlee3am,

    As @dave2swords and I already mentioned, a featured image shows up on the top page only when you assign a featured image to a Sticky post. Other featured images with non-Sticky posts will not show up on the top page.

    If you don’t like it, you can even consider changing your theme. You will find the one you like in the Theme Showcase.
