Hemmingway footer in white – text too light to see

I like the Hemmingway theme, but for what I need to use it for (displaying my clips) there will be a lot of text to read. So, I would really like to have the theme in white. But when I change the setting, the footer is light gray and so is the text, which is nearly impossible to read. Is there anyway I can change that? I’ve searched for CSS codes and other help, but I don’t have the CSS upgrade.

We really do need a link to your WordPress.com blog, starting with http:// in order to help.

Oops, sorry. Here it is: http://kellybyer.wordpress.com/

Also, is there a way to turn off the automatically generated links that show up at the bottom of posts?

    Two separate issues:
    1) Widgets: seems you’ve swapped out the native Hemingway widgets. If you use them (under Appearance>>Hemingway Options) rather than the Widgets available under “Widgets” the text will be darker. I agree this seems dumb, but without the CSS upgrade, there’s no other way to change the color of the text.

    2) Related posts can be turned off under “Appearance>>Extras”, “Hide related links on this blog”.

Thanks! That solved a bunch of my problems. Now I’m just wondering if there’s a way to rename the Hemingway widgets – instead of it saying something like “categories.”
