Hemmingway Theme: Image/Gallery not displaying properly (with excerpt) on home.

Hi! I’ve been trying to post a gallery of images for my blog. I’ve set it to “image” post format but none of the images was shown (not even the featured image). It was different from what I saw on the theme’s showcased appearance.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi Jessica,

In your Customizer, click on the Content Options section.

At the top, switch the Blog Display setting to Full post.

This will allow your front page to show the content of your gallery.

Let me know if that helps.

Im having the same problem I want a photo and an excerpt on the front like it shows. however I only get the feature photo. when I put it to full post as you suggested It displays the whole blog and you cannot really tell when one blog stops and the next begins. ???? please help

  • bubbalooblue – featured images in Hemingway Rewritten are displayed in one of two ways:

1 – If the image is large enough, it replaces the custom header and is displayed at the very top of the page, behind the site title and tagline.

2 – If you set a post to be sticky so it appears first, its featured image is displayed on the blog page. This is why your featured image for “Just Making Things Better than the Day Before” is displayed on the blog, because that post is sticky.

In this theme, Featured images are not displayed above each post in the blog for non-sticky posts. If you’d like to keep using Hemmingway Rewritten, you might find that choosing the “Full post” option and inserting the “More tag” where you want the post to split gives you closer to the effect you’re looking for.

Let me know how it goes!
