Hero Theme: adjusting length of promotional callouts?

    Hi! I’m loving the Hero theme, and making use of both the Hero slideshow images and the promotional callouts on my front page. However, I’d like to shorten the text from each blog post that appears on the front page with the callouts and slider images. Right now it displays a long paragraph, while the demo shows examples with just a sentence or two of text. I’ve tried using the “Read More” tag within each blog post but that doesn’t work. Any other ideas?
