Hever theme: how to sharpen image

  • Unknown's avatar

I am using the Hever theme and have uploaded my own photo. I would like the image to be less misty. Is there a way to sharpen it? I am using the free platform.

  • Hi there,

This is happening because the image you uploaded is tiny, only 150 by 100 pixels big, and it has to be stretched to fill the area where you’ve added it. It’s appearing blurred, because the jpg file you uploaded does not contain enough data to display it more clearly, so there is no way to sharpen it. If you opened that image directly on your computer and then tried stretching it to the size it appears on your site the exact same thing would happen.

The only way to have a clearer image there, is to replace the current image with a higher-resolution one. You’ll need an image at least 2000px wide, as that’s the maximum width at which your theme can display the image on larger computer screens.

Full-width images included in the content of your posts and pages need to be at least 740px wide.

You can find these numbers at the bottom of the support page for your theme:
