Hew theme won't show image in link embed

    I’m using the Hew theme, and I’m wondering about header images. I’ve read all of the literature there is on header images. But here’s my sticking point:

    -When I link to a specific post (which has a header image option in WordPress editor) on, say, Facebook, an image appears in the link embed no problem

    -But if I link just to my blog, no image appears, I just get a blank square

    When you look under the hood of the Hew theme, it doesn’t seem like there is a space for a site header image…am I missing something?

    So with most themes here, we’ll show the featured image for an individual post or page. If a page (like the main blog page) does not have a featured image, though, the system might not know what to link.

    A few fixes:

    – You could get a Blavatar. That will show in the small square box when you link to just the site itself if the page you’re linking to does not have a featured image:

    – You could set up a static front page to your site, add a featured image to that, and use a Blog Posts Block to feature a few posts below it. Then, that featured image could show when you share the site’s front-page link:
