Hey, I may have made a big mistake..

    I would love to start a blog soon. But not right now. I wasn’t being careful and I accidentally created an account and a domain… And a chuck of money went out my account! :( It’s okay for later. But right now it’s not something I can afford. I was wondering if there was any chance I could, perhaps, get a refund?

    Hi there, as long as you are logged in with the correct WordPressdotcom user account and you are within the refund window (96 hours for custom domains and 30 days for everything else) you can initiate the refund directly from your account’s Purchases Dashboard https://wordpress.com/me/purchases Click the right arrow on the upgrade and select Cancel Subscription and then follow the prompts.

    Otherwise when you are logged in with the correct WordPressdotcom user account, you can contact Support directly by clicking on the big blue question mark in the lower right corner of any dashboard screen.

    What is the domain?

    The account you’re using to post here was created only minutes before you posted this forum thread, and has never bought anything from us.

    Registering a domain on WordPress.com is a multi-step process, including a checkout flow where you would have had to provide your credit card info and very explicitly click on a Pay Now button, so there’s no way registering a domain and getting charged on WordPress.com can happen accidentally.
