  Hi,

  I want to migrate my site to siteground.
  But it doesn’t allow me to upload siteground plugin.
  What do I need to do to host my site with siteground without paying wordpress as well?

  Hi there,

  Are you speaking of https://iamdelali.wordpress.com/?

  It’s not possible to do a full-site migration of a WordPress.com site in the way that you describe, as WordPress.com uses a modified version of the WordPress software, that cannot simply be installed on another hosting provider’s servers.

  Instead, go to My Site ->Tools ->Export, and create an export file of the content on your site:

  https://wordpress.com/support/export/

  On Siteground’s end, create a new installation of the WordPress software on your hosting account. Once that’s done, log into WP-Admin, go to Tools ->Import, and install the WordPress importer plugin. Then use that to upload the file you exported on our end.

  Make sure that your WordPress.com site remains set to public until the import process completes, otherwise your media files will not be transferred to the new site.
