Hi,
-
A few days ago, the colour of my ‘normal’ text on all my pages changed without me doing anything!!
I use a dark background (template colour brown) and therefore I chose white as the default colour of my text. But now all text is dark grey (so unreadable) and the youtube links I pasted in no longer show a preview of the video, but only the link.
I can still change the text colour into white manually, but then I can’t see my work as I’m working with white text on a white background.
My simple question is: what changed? And how can I set the default colour of my text back to white???
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Robert,
We’re working on a bug with your theme now. I don’t suggest manually changing the color of the text as if you ever do change the color scheme of your site in the future, those posts would need to be manually changed.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.

I’m sorry for the trouble!
I’ve restored your http://robertbarreveld.wordpress.com/ blog back to the original brown color scheme that comes with the Pilcrow theme.
I also tried to revert the manual color styles you added to the front page and the latest post and here are the revisions I made:
https://robertbarreveld.wordpress.com/wp-admin/revision.php?from=240&to=244
https://robertbarreveld.wordpress.com/wp-admin/revision.php?from=230&to=246Can you take a look at the blog again now and let me know if the colors are back to normal or if anything at all is off?
Or, if you’d like to use one of the newer color palettes, you can go to Appearance > Customize > Colors and select one of the palettes (just below the circles) to see if you can find anything there that you like. Here is a direct link:
https://robertbarreveld.wordpress.com/wp-admin/customize.php#colorsYou might really like the “Match header image” option in the colors panel, so I’d suggest trying that out in the preview screen too. Click the button multiple times to see different color suggestions based on the colors pulled from the header image.
Let me know if you need any help at all and I’ll do my best to get the colors working really well for you.

Hi,
It looked great! But then things went wrong again.
I looked through some color palets and now the same problem occurs: All letters are dark grey! Will this keep happening when I want to change the colors? In that case, could you please reset the colors to what you did yesterday? Thanks,
Robert

This is actually good because no one has given enough information yet about how to reproduce the problem.
If you can figure out exactly what you’re doing to get the text color to turn dark gray, that would help me a lot!
Or, if you’d prefer to try to just resolve the issue without extra experimenting regarding the text, that’s okay too. To do that, I suggest first going to Appearance > Theme Options and setting the color scheme to “light.” Once you do that, I think the color palettes will work normally from that point forward. The reason is that I think the color palettes and the color schemes in some themes may be interfering with each other but it has been a little unpredictable to track down because it depends on a few other settings people have changed (like the color scheme one) that I wasn’t aware of.
Either way, I’m here to help get the colors to a good end result. Thanks so much for your patience in working through this issue!
I set the colors for https://robertbarreveld.wordpress.com/ back to the defaults with the brown theme color scheme. Let me know where you want to go from here and what I can do to help.

Hi,
Thanks for all the help so far! I can try again, but I think the text turns grey when I click ‘save’ after having chosen a new palette…. Before I save, I can try every palette I want ad the text just changes along with it.

Just to make sure, did you go to Appearance > Theme Options first and set the color scheme to “light” before trying the color palettes?
