hi! how do i find the live chat support
-
1) I had a support chat window pop up with live support, and then i closed it by mistake. cant find it again to save my life.
2) Doesnt WordPress offer a $100 service to transfer my .com blog to a .org site and get it set up and working right??
I’ve been trying to do it myself but it just wont work and i dont have enough time to get in there and figure out the kinks and what’s holding it up.Thanks!

Hi there! The chat box disappears when we don’t have any Happiness Engineers available to chat. If we have chatters available, you can find the box in the corner of your screen or here:
We do have a Guided Transfer upgrade where our Happiness Engineers will transfer your site to a self hosted installation and get you up and running:

Let me know if you have any more questions!

I do have another question! When I transfer my blog, I Want to make sure that my old blog remains online and intact.

No problem! When you transfer your site, you’ll probably want to point the domain fineartforbodies.com to your new self-hosted URL. However, your WordPress.com site (tariqsabur.wordpress.com) will stay up and running. It won’t get removed/deleted when you move your site!

Hi, I am having HUGE problems migrating my site to my self-hosted site.
I have had two professional web designers attempt to do it following the instructions at:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-to-a-self-hosted-wordpress-site/And both of them seem to be running into the same problem the exported files from the wordpress export dont seem to populate into the WordPress thats installed on my new hosts’s server.
I cant use the guided transfer because I have godaddy for hosting (I refuse to use blue-host their service and support are terrible, and I want to start with a well-established full-service host that I know and trust to prevent having to move again later.) Is there any advice or anyone with experiences like this? OR better, Are there any professionals at wordpress that can help with this transition?
Thanks

Hey there!
If you need professional help for your self-hosted WordPress site, please check out these sites:
http://werkpress.com/
http://jobs.wordpress.net/
http://wpcurve.com/You may also wish to contact your host’s support team for more assistance. They should be able to help you out with that import and let you know why it’s failing.
I am sure your designers have already read this part of the instructions on our site, but I do want to clarify:
Exports from WordPress.com sites will ONLY export your posts, pages, comments, categories, and tags; uploads and images may need to be manually transferred to the new blog. The current version of the WordPress.org installation gives you the option to import uploaded files, but the blog you are importing from (tariqsabur.wordpress.com) must be live and serving images properly in order for it to work. So, do not delete your blog until after media files have successfully been imported into the new blog.
If you are planning to export your content to another blog platform, it’s best to manually download and save your images from your WordPress.com Media Library to before trying to import/upload them into the new blog.
My advice is to start with your web site’s host for advice (since you’re paying for their support!), and then move onto the list of professions, if you still need.
I hope this helps! If you have any other concerns, drop me a note. Thanks much!
