Hi, I am trying to embed a code for an opt-in page. I copy paste the code in text mode and see the opt-in Add Email box, but as soon as I save it, the opt-in Email box vanishes.,
Also “add shortlink” has vanished on that page. I also saw something about getting bots if it vanished which it did. Why isn’t the opt-in Email box staying on the screen page? Thanks,

Hi Janice,
Are you using the Blog Subscription Shortcode on that page, or are you trying to use a different opt-in code there? Some code isn’t allowed here at WordPress.com, for security purposes, and code that isn’t allowed is stripped out of your posts and pages automatically.
If you copy and paste the code you’re trying to use in your reply here, I can take a look at it for you. :)

Hi,
Here is the code: I can’t center it either. If you can center and get the Email box to stay on the page, I’d appreciate it. Jon Morrow recommends this, and he loves WordPress.<!– Begin MailChimp Signup Form –>

Hi Janice,
It isn’t possible to embed MailChimp signup forms like that in WordPress.com blogs. (It’s only an option on self-hosted WordPress blogs using the software from WordPress.org.)
If you’d like to give people an option to subscribe to your MailChimp newsletter, you can include a link to the MailChimp signup form so readers can follow the link and sign up at MailChimp. Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)
