Hi, I bought a domain and I want to know what will happen if I map it to my wordpress.

  I want to change the address of my site, AkashMSky.wordpress.com to AkashSky.com

  However, I want AkashMSky.wordpress.com to redirect to AkashSky.com while having all of the post of AkashMSky.wordpress.com. My current website is the wordpress one, of which I am using the free version. I also have purchased AkashSky.com from GoDaddy. How much will it cost me to achieve this?

  All you need to do is follow these instructions to set up Domain Mapping:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

  Domain Mapping costs $13 per year.

  I do realize that setting up domain mapping is a potential solution, but let me explain my question more clearly with an example.

  Try searching animeram.com in google, (don’t worry its just a harmless anime website, but make sure to have addblock on!).

  Notice that instead of animeram.com popping up, animeram.co comes up in the address link. Here, I believe that animeram.com is redirected to animeram.co.

  What I want is to have AkashSky.com be the main website, the “animeram.co” in my example, and I want AkashMSky.wordpress.com to be “animeram.com”. Would domain mapping still allow me to achieve this?

  Once Domain Mapping is set up, any traffic to AkashMSky.wordpress.com will be redirected to AkashSky.com.
