  Hi. I thought I was setting up a blog with the above URL. However when I type it into a search engine I get “URL nor found” or some such. I found a domain name under my account for guymanchester.wordpress.com and it has my blog Bristol Silents at it’s address so it appears it chose to use my name instead of the blogs name for the URL. Also I can’t delete guymanchester.wordpress.com without contacting you.
  I also have a problem in that I’m not allowed to set up the bristolsilents.wordpress.com for some reason. I was pretty sure when I set up the blog that I put bristolsilents.wordpress.com as my desired URL as I remember checking that bristolsilents.com was available as I’ll probably want to pay the $17 to upgrade to it. I did try logging in with ‘bristolsilents’ as username rather than ‘guymanchester’ but when I asked for an email reminder for the password I wasn’t sent one. I checked through all my spam in case it had slipped through. 
  So basically I’m just really confused. I just want to get on with my blog & can’t get past past this first step.
  If you can advise me as to where I can go from here that’d be great.

  Both http://bristolsilents.wordpress.com/ and http://guymanchester.wordpress.com/ appear to belong to you. The bristolsilents.com domain name is not registered however (bit it is available to register).

  Ok, I’ve figured it out. I couldn’t change the url in the domains section as the only blog there was http://guymanchester.wordpress.com/.

  However I then went to “Users” in the left hand column, clicked on “Personal Settings” and about two thirds of the way down was a “Primary Blog” option. Clicking on this popped up the two blog names. I changed it so http://bristolsilents.wordpress.com/ was my primary blog.

  However (again) I still got an error when I I tried browsing to http://bristolsilents.wordpress.com/ It transpires that error occurs if you’ve posted no blogs as when I tried adding a test blog after the url loaded properly.

  It was hard work but I finally got there.
