    Hi,

Our blog does not show up anymore: http://blog.castlevillelegends.com/ Under “My upgrades”
I can see our premium account expires on July 30th 2015. So this should not be the reason for the blog to be offline. It also says “DNS needs to be updated”. What does this mean?

How can I get the blog online again?

    Thanks,

    Rainer

It looks like the name servers for your subdomain got messed up at GoDaddy. If you log into the page you use to manage your domain, you should be able to fix it there.

Here are the instructions for how that works:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/

If you need extra help, the support people at GoDaddy can get into your account to help you as well

    https://support.godaddy.com/

Let me know how that goes!

    Hello, Liz.
This is one of the engineers at Zynga.
So I took the instructional you posted and that method does not work.
GoDaddy does not support full control mapping from another website(It’s either WordPress URL Forwarded from GoDaddy Domain AND GoDaddy NServers or GoDaddy Domain with WP NameServers). I have spoke to desktop support with GoDaddy and they have mentioned the same.
When we switched “My Domains” from “Blog.CastlevilleLegends.com” back to “CastlevilleLegends.wordpress.com” as the primary account, the mapping worked completely fine. Something is wrong with “Blog.castevillelegends.com” as the Primary domain. I tried possibly setting the cname on GoDaddy with castlevillelegends.wordpress.com IN CNAME blog.castlevillelegends but that didnt work as it creates its own CNAME, from what i can imagine is pointed to the LoadBalancer.
    castlevillelegend.wordpress.com. 14400 IN CNAME lb.wordpress.com.
So it’s been pretty narrowed down to the domain blog.castlevillelegends.com as the issue, not the nameservers on godaddy.

I agree. Unfortunately, nothing about subdomains that aren’t registered with WordPress.com is controlled from our end.

In this particular case, the CNAME record should read

    blog.castlevillelegends.com. IN CNAME castlevillelegend.wordpress.com.

Have you tried that specific combination?

    Ha. Had it backwards.
Don’t know why I didnt put the correct subdomain name (blog) in the zone in godaddy.
    Working perfectly fine now.
    ;; ANSWER SECTION:
    blog.castlevillelegends.com. 1800 IN CNAME castlevillelegend.wordpress.com.
    castlevillelegend.wordpress.com. 14400 IN CNAME lb.wordpress.com.
    Thank you for your help!

I have days like that too. Glad it’s all working now.
