Hi there!
-
I had activated a new theme. I don’t want the title of the blog and the menu and the top right corner to keep moving as I scroll. How can I prevent this?
-
Hi! That’s built into the theme you chose, but there are many others. Is there a particular feature you like about that one that made you choose it?
-
I just like the layout! I was trying to change the homepage layout by the blog pages template.. can you tell me how that works in congruence with the design template?

I’m not sure I understand your question. You are currently displaying your recent posts on your homepage. If you’d like to get the demo look of the theme, you’ll want to change that to display a static page. You’ll be able to choose a demo page to work on or, you can also choose a blank page and follow the instructions from here:

Hi there!
So a few questions:
1. What is the purpose of using pages?
2. I tried to follow the directions and created the two pages, but again why do you need two different ones?
3. When I visit my site, I don’t see the layout that I selected in my pages.. so how do I access that? -
1. Most folks use pages for more static content. For example, I have an About page with a bit of a bio and a Contact page with a contact form on it.
2. Are you speaking of setting a front page? By default, your site will display all of your posts on the front page. If you want to change that, like to an intro or something, you can set a different front page and assign your posts to another page.
3. I’m not entirely sure what you mean by this. Let’s start with just one URL of an affected page and a description of what you’d like to see instead.

What is the definition of a static page? And let’s say I have about in my menu, what would then be the purpose of a page?
I had selected a particular layout for the way I want my posts to be arranged, and called it current but when I publish the page, this layout doesn’t appear. Instead, it’s the layout that comes default with the theme!

If you have “About” in your menu, then “About” is probably a page.
Take a look at my site, for example: https://macmanx.com/
There, “About” and “Archives” are pages, not posts. And on the front there are all of my posts.
What is the URL of the site you’re working on?
