Hi Katie,
Do you mean the “Home” button that appears in the top right corner of each page? That’s part of the design of The Columnist theme — it always links back to the front page of your site. However, you could use custom CSS (part of your WordPress.com Premium plan) to remove that link from the theme.
I see you’ve already made some CSS customizations to your site, but if you have any questions or concerns about that please let me know! The CSS Customization forum can also be a great place to get ideas and help from others (including some volunteers with extensive CSS experience).

Thank you so much.I managed to get rid of it (not even 100% sure how I did it) have been playing with CSS customisations. They only one I have not been able to get right is to get rid of the ‘Comments off’ that comes up on every page. Any ideas how i could remove that? Also when you scroll through the pages you have to scroll left, do you know of a way I could change it to right?
Many thanks,
katie

HI Katie!
When looking to hide a bit of content with CSS, normally you’ll either use the property ‘visibility: hidden;’ or ‘display: none;’ .
The tricky thing with your “comments off” bit is that it’s within the same section as that helpful Edit link that only appears for admins. (Here’s what it looks like in Chrome’s Developer tools)
So try this out to hide the whole section, then bring back that edit link:
.entry-meta { visibility: hidden; } .entry-meta span.edit-link{ visibility: initial; }Also when you scroll through the pages you have to scroll left, do you know of a way I could change it to right?
Could you further explain your question? When visiting your site I’m only able to scroll up and down while reading.

HI there,
Thank you so much for the CSS link it got rid of the ‘comments off’ . Fab.
With the scrolling I meant when you click on a blog post. When you click on the first one, under the image it allows you to go to the next page, but the arrow points left, and I want it to go right. If this is possible.
Thank you for your help already,
katie

Hi Katie,
Thanks for explaining, I see you what you mean now. :)
I’m pretty sure all the themes on WordPress.com use left for the (older post) button and right for the (newer post) direction, so we’ll kind of need to “trick” the site into making this happen. We could use some CSS to hide the “newer post” button on the right, then move the “older post” button over to the right instead, and then adjust the arrow:
.nav-previous a span.meta-nav{ display: none; } .nav-previous a:after{ content: '→'; } #content .nav-previous{ float: right; } .nav-next{ display: none; }Let me know how you like that. :)
