Hi there, is it possible to "zip up my website"?

Hi there, is it possible to “zip up my website”? I just went through the copyright process and apparently they now need all the content. I was told that most people “zip up their website” and submit that but I have no clue how to do that.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
You can export your site content following the instructions here:
From there, you can compress the file into a .zip file by right-clicking the file and clicking “Compress” (Mac instructions). Is that what you’re referring to?

This is the page I found and followed the directions to export, but ended up with a safari file with it looks like a bunch of html…I am not sure what to do from here. I need this to submit to the copyright office and short of taking a screen shot of every single part of my site, I don’t know what else to do since this file doesn’t seem to have anything they would be able to read? Any advice?

Hi!
The xml file you’re exporting is what we call WordPress eXtended RSS or WXR. It has all of your content, comments, categories, tags, etc. However, it doesn’t display your information in a very readable format as it’s meant for exporting your site content to be imported elsewhere, not for reading the content. In order to turn the file into a readable format, they will need to import it into a WordPress.com. Unfortunately, this is the only type of export file we provide.
I definitely don’t want you to have to screenshot every single part of your site! Your best bet is to try to convert the xml file into a text document or send along the xml zip file. I’m not exactly sure what kind of file they’re looking for, but the xml file does have all of your content.

Hi there, I can’t figure out how to convert it to a text file…I can call and ask if they are able to upload the xml file into something to take a look. Does the xml file also have my pictures?
-
Yep! It should have all of your media as well as comments. I would ask if an xml file would work for what they’re looking for. If they say no or they ask for a specific file format, just let me know. We’ll find a way to make it work!
