  You can use the free plan for as long as it suits your purpose. At some point in the future you might decide a paid plan would be advantageous to give you a custom domain name or extra storage for media or remove the adverts that may appear on your free plan etc. As your new site is only a few hours old the first step ought to be checking this page out: https://learn.wordpress.com/

  Hi there,

  As @themagicrobot already said, you can use the Free plan for as long as you like and we’ll never ask you to pay for it.

  When you see that your needs change (e.g. need more space, more customization, etc.) you can upgrade to one of the paid plans.
