Hid my blog "home" page and now have 2 "home" pages
-
Using theme 2012 :: While creating a new “home” page and setting the preference to “use static page” I inadvertently hid my blog “home” page. When I look at my menus on the left hand box I had clicked on “select all” and “add to menu”.
Now I have two “home” pages in that small box and two of all my pages (including the new “home” pages) in the Menu Structure.
So I’ve unchecked the “use static page” for the home page for now.
1. How to I safe guard the blog into a linkable navigation label of “blog” vs. “home” for my menu?
2. And how do I make the new “Home” page a real home page?

You need to undo what you did.
By default the front page of your blog displays all published posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. That is for the convenience of your returning visitors, who come to read your latest post, and who are not likely to be happy with being compelled to click through the same static page with the same blah, blah, blah on it every time they visit the blog looking for the latest post.
However, if you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page called for example “Welcome” for your site with whatever text you wish to place on it and a “Blog” page for posts without any text. To do that create two pages first http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/
After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.

To address the two “Home” pages issue you create a custom menu and include only the Home page with the text created on it in the custom menu.
