How do I create a page that is only visible by people who get the direct link? In essence I want to create a page that doesn’t show up on the main menu.

Is your page automatically getting added to the main menu?
If yes, I would advise you to set up a custom menu and only add those pages to the menu which you want to display to the users.You can also set the page visibility to password-protected. Anybody who has access to that password would be able to view that page.

We need to create a custom menu to show at the menu locations available in the theme. You can skip adding the promotion page to the menu so that it does not display in your menu.
If you have a website hosted on WordPress.com then you can follow the steps in the linked support document to create a custom menu.
Goto My Sites, then Customize. In the Customizer, click the Menus tab.
Add items to the menu.
Here is how to find the URL of the page which you want to share for promotions-
Goto My sites->Site Pages.
Open the page which you want to share.
If you click on the title of the page then you will see the Permalink appear on top of the title. Copy it. This is the link that you can share for promotions.Hope this helps and let me know if you have any more questions.
