Hide a static page & use it as your frontpage

Hi,
I made a blog some hours ago but I’m encountering some trouble.
I’d like my frontpage to be a static page but I do not want that static page to be shown in the menu bar with all the other pages.Could anyone help me please?

Simply set your static front page from Settings -> Reading – http://support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/ – and then ‘hide’ that page from your primary navigation menu – http://support.wordpress.com/pages/hide-pages/#hide-from-the-navigation-menu

I use it, uncheck a box and the page is there, normal but not listed in any automated navigation menus.

That link is for a blog “powered by WordPress” i.e. a WordPress.org blog.
The information is not useful for WordPress.com blogs. We can not use plug-ins.
