Hide and show part of the blog's text
-
Hi. I understand I cannot use Javascript to hide and show, on a click of the mouse, part of my text. Nevertheless, I wonder if I can achieve the same result using some other features that I don’t know well in WordPress, such as Conditional widgets.
My purpose is, given a long piece of text in a blog post, to allow the users to select and deselect what they want to read. This can be in the post, in a menu, anywhere that makes sense.
I would like to prepare let’s say 30 blog posts, each of them constructed with a similar shirnkable/expandable structure: Profile, Story, Case Study 1, etc in each of the posts.
Is anything like this achievable in wordpress.com?
I am happy to consider buying a CSS if necessary, of course, but it would be nice to be able to test the potential results upfront. Thanks for your help!

I think you’d be limited to needing JavaScript for anything that requires an onClick action to expand or collapse. Interesting idea though!
I think in order to get the level of customization you want, you would need to switch to a WordPress.org setup and also add custom code to your theme in order to make it work.
WordPress.com does have a built in pagination feature, and it doesn’t sound like it will fit exactly with what you’re trying to do, but it might be the closest workaround.
