  • Hey there,

It is not possible to set a specific Block to hide on mobile. Can you share more about what you are looking to hide specifically so we can take a look and see if there might be a solution?

Thanks! Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Hi staff-dragon

I have a similiar request and will try to explain my idea by giving an example.

Currently when editing a page, you can place “blocks” i.e. desing element like paragraphs, blockquote, graphics, pictures, list, etc… at a page. if you want to “disable” or “hide” an element from rendering for the audience, then the only ways is to copy the page and remove the element you don’t want to show. There are plugins outside, adding a checkbox “hide element” or so named to WordPress´ blocks.

The other way is to add an addtional css class to the theme, which entails other disadvantages – like the css is no more visible once you have moved away from the Theme Design Editor and return later again to Add additional css field – and use this class to hide or make invisble this certain element.

I would like to see this feature as an out-of-the-box feature in WP for everyone. Specifically, as the WP is today impossible the all addional added css classes for a certain theme.

    Best Alex

I understand that navigating between WordPress.com and WordPress.org can be a bit confusing. The WordPress software we use here at WordPress.com is actually a product of a larger community effort over at WordPress.org.

If you have a suggestion or idea specifically for the core WordPress software, which seems to be what you’re suggesting, I’d recommend sharing it in the Request and Feedback forum on WordPress.org. Here’s the link: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/requests-and-feedback/

Otherwise you might consider using plugins to enhance the functionality or employing CSS targeting for specific styling. Plugins are how the community handles specific user case needs currently.

I hope this explanation helps clarify things for you! Let me know if there’s anything else you’d like to know.
