Hide checkout cart from menu
-
Hello there,
I am using Radcliff 2 theme and it is working well, but by default a checkout cart is active on my site. Is there a way to hide this from the ‘social bar’ menu? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
It looks like your website is hosted with CoGeco Peer 1. We can only assist with WordPress.com hosted sites on this forum.
You can ask for support in the WordPress.org forums: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
There is a .org support forum for the Radcliffe 2 theme here:
https://wordpress.org/support/theme/radcliffeThe difference between .ORG and .COM is explained here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
Hope this helps :)

Hi there @msbaumgartner and @catkiinson, Looking at the WHOIS entry at https://whois.icann.org/en/lookup?name=pick-me-up.org I see pick-me-up.org is using WordPressdotcom name servers
@msbaumgartner If you have any upgrade plan on WordPressdotcom, you have direct access to Support by Live Chat and email when you post through the contact form at https://wordpress.com/help/contactRegardless I’ve gone ahead and tagged this thread for Staff assistance. Thanks for your patience while they get back to you. If you have in the meantime resolved this directly with Support, please let me know so I can remove the tag for Staff. Thanks.

Hey @catkiinson going back through recent forum threads where you’ve mentioned CoGeco Peer 1 as the web hosting provider, nearly all of those users ended up being hosted on the WordPressdotcom Business plan. I’m not sure why that is, but it might be worth an additional check if CoGeco Peer 1 comes up in your results. Hope that helps.

Hi @justjennifer – thanks for picking that up. I’m using https://www.whoishostingthis.com/
I ran pick-me-up.org again and it still says CoGeco Peer 1. Is there a different site I should be using?
Thank you for your advice.

Hi @catkiinson If whoishostingthis is your go-to site for checking, then look at the name servers as well. (temp screenshot) If they aren’t listed on the initial results page, you can click through the WHOIS link there, which for me leads through to godaddy’s whois search.
Regardless, if “CoGeco Peer 1” appears as the Hosting Provider in the results on whoishostingthis, you might want to do an additional check. Our Volunteer’s Guide https://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpress-com-volunteers/ mentions using the ICANN WHOIS website.
Another tip, notice that there’s no wpcomhelp tag attached to this forum thread. That’s a good indication that the user posted directly in the forums rather than using the contact form because anyone who has a paid upgrade is routed to Support instead.
Again, hope that helps. :)

Hi there,
You can hide the checkout option from appearing in the menu with some custom CSS:
/* Hides cart item from site menu */ .site-header-cart { display: none; }For more help with your Business Plan site, please use the Help icon that appears bottom right on all the My Site pages to contact live chat support directly – we’re better able to help you with the advanced features of your site there than here in the forums.
Thanks for helping here, @justjennifer.
Whoishostingthis does say the hosting provider is CoGeco Peer 1, but it also shows the domain is using WordPress.com name servers.
In my experience Whoishostingthis is not a very reliable option for Whois lookups – they’re more focused on providing advertising for hosting providers than about giving accurate information. Either way, if you see WordPress.com name servers, please tag the thread for staff.

Oh, in case you haven’t used CSS before, click on My Site ->Customize ->Additional CSS, and add the code I gave above there.
