Hide existing comments on 1,400 blog posts

    2) – yes when the CSS upgrade is canceled the changes will go away and the comments come back – but you were sounding like hiding the comments was a test to see what happens so thus the suggestion

    Surely wp should be able to switch off all comments related stuff – html headings, text, everything? How long will this feature take to be included?

    And BTW the same for all voting and sharing features. Ive tried to switch them all off… a myriad of interconnected checkboxes… and what is left is orphaned html text lying on the page. That also needs a single on/off check box to remove everything in one go.

    And of course… the whole thing needs to scale up. I have 1,400 posts and I dont know how many comments because I have been blogging for 8 years or so. If I try to make changes to all posts (999 is the limit in the screen options on the all posts page). But if I even try to edit only 400 at one time it crashes.

    WP is awesome. You guys are awesome. But these three things need to be done if you want to have bragging rights.

    Our developers review this forum regularly and ideas which have merit and grab their interest are put on the roadmap for inclusion in future version of WordPress.com. Unfortunately there is no way for them to implement what you are talking about at a moments notice however. I’m sorry.

    Pls would you check and ensure that no developer has ever added any custom code or work arounds to my wp install. I want a standard vanilla install as everyone else has.

    Nope, there isn’t anything custom done to your blog. You have the same thing that anyone else has, with the only difference being any customizations you have made.
