Hide Featured Image In Post

  I’m using the theme Twenty Fourteen, and I’d like to use featured images for the carousel at the top of the page, but I don’t want the featured images to appear with the post in the list further down the page as the sizes are too large and I have smaller versions of the photos in the posts themselves.

  Is there a way that I can have the featured image show up in the carousel, but not anywhere else?
