Hide header image on some pages "Shoreditch"
-
Hello everyone
I’m trying to hide the header image on the home page and make it available in other pages, without using CSS.
I read in a post in this forum:Shoreditch’s header is shown across the entire site, except on posts/pages with their own Featured Images.
but I can’t achieve that !, although the home page is a static page that has its own featured image, the header image is still shown on it.
Any help?
Many thanks.Site: itqansoft.wordpress.com

Hi there,
Custom CSS is part of Custom Design, which is a feature of the WordPress.com Premium and WordPress.com Business plans. https://wordpress.com/pricing

Shoreditch’s header is shown across the entire site, except on posts/pages with their own Featured Images.
Are you referring to this thread https://en.forums.wordpress.com/users/chad1008/?
If not will you please provide a link to the thread you refer to above?Does consulting the theme description page at https://wordpress.com/theme/shoreditch help?
See the Featured Content section and the Theme Options sections there.

Yikes! I’m so sorry about that link above. This is a new forum set up and I actually meant
are you referring to this thread https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-to-turn-off-shoreditch-header-on-individual-pages/ ? note the first response by chad1008. -
Yes I’m referring exactly to the second link you send! to chad1008’s first response, but I can’t get it to work for me. i.e., when I set a featured image for some page, the page will still show the header image.
I coudn’t find help for that on the theme page.
Is the header image something distinct from the ‘header’ mentioned in chad1008 comment or what ?!
Thank you for your help. -
Let’s ask Staff to assist you with sorting this out. I will type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for Staff help. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question

Hi! Can you clarify?
Chad’s solution involved using CSS to hide images on pages, but you’d mentioned earlier you’re trying to accomplish your aims without CSS.
Are you okay with CSS based solutions?
Also, are you aiming to hide the image or replace the image on a page with a different featured image?
And can you send links to the affected pages? We’ll go from there.

Hi
In fact I supposed that Chad’s solution consists of two separate solutions: one that doesn’t depend on CSS but rather on using featured images, and another more controlling one that uses CSS.
I’m okay with using CSS but I thought I’m not able to use them since I’m on a Free Plan.No I would like to hide it , so I can take the advantage provided by the theme of using the featured image as a background to the text. Please note that in this case there will be no need to the header image from a design point of view !
You can lock at those links:
The landing page:
itqansoft.wordpress.com/home
And this one:
itqansoft.wordpress.com/testBoth use a featured image, but both have the header image visible, not as should be according to Chad’s clarification: “..except on posts/pages with their own Featured Images.”
Thank you.

Mmm I don’t think that’s what Chad meant, unless it was meant in conjunction with the CSS he gave.
Without CSS the header can either be on for the whole site, or off. I’d recommend turning it off and using featured images.
