hide original home page title
-
I am trying to get rid of the tab “blog” in the navigation menu. I changed the home page to a static page and made the post page “interviews and stories”. In doing all this I ended up with a dummy page “blog” which I can’t find anywhere in the admin panel to hide in some way. It’s not a page since it’s the original posts page.
ElizabethThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We can’t answer technical questions accurately without a link to the blog, starting with http.

THanks, we always need that to check out some things first. Here’s the link that will help you hide one of those links:

In the K2 theme the ‘Home’ tab is titled ‘Blog’ and that cannot be changed. You can hide your ‘About’ tab by making the page a child page, but the ‘Home’ tab will always be ‘Blog’ in K2. If you need a ‘Home’ tab that actually says ‘Home’ you need to select a different theme.

ultimately what I would like is a static home page called “about” and a post page called “interviews”.
if I understand, I need to find a template that titles the home page “about”. There is no way to change the name of the title page, only to make it static or a post page.
correct? -
You need to find a theme that has a HOME front page. There is no THEME with an ABOUT front page. Make a page titled INTERVIEWS. Make a page titled ABOUT, set INTERVIEWS as the parent of ABOUT. Then make ABOUT the static front page. Now you will have two tabs on your front page, HOME and INTERVIEWS, with ABOUT appearing as the HOME page only.
-
Note 1 “Then make ABOUT the static front page” should read:
Then make ABOUT the front page and INTERVIEWS the posts page (both in Settings>Reading).Note 2 Or find a theme with header tabs but without a home tab, set ABOUT as your front page (without assigning a parent to it) and INTERVIEWS as your posts page.
