  Hi, I selected private in settings but my site still appears in an internet search of my name. I need this site to not appear at all in an internet search of my name. I don’t necessarily want to delete it just have it go dark. Why isn’t your private setting not working?

  Hi @heathermcisaacphd,

  Organic search results are not immediately removed from Google, even if your site is set to private. When your site is private, anonymous visitors cannot view your site, which has since been deleted.

  If you would like your site restored, just let me know. You can then submit it to Google Search Console for re-indexing.
