Hide site title and site description, Parament theme

Basically the above. I’ve tried:
Adding “#header h1 { display:none }” both at the end of the page as well as adding just the “display: none;” in the actual header section as well to no avail. I’ve also tried to trick to move it 9999 pixels and that didn’t work either.
I had this working as of a few days ago, but I found some remnants of hack in the theme (there were lots of meta tags pointing to cialis, etc) and reinstalled it to fix the problem. Unfortunately that broke this for me again. I’d appreciate any assistance you could provide.
