    Bounce rate is the percentage of visitors who enter and exit on the same page without visiting any other pages on the same site. Consequently visitors reading your post on the front page without clicking to open the comments is a bounce.

    A zero bounce rate is desirable. It’s an indication that those readers who came looking for posts on specific topics of interest to them found them.

    A high bounce rate is undesirable. It indicates that the landing pages your readers hit on aren’t relevant to them.

    It’s important to comprehend that visitors who bounce out of a site immediately after arrival do ratchet up the unique visitor count, but do not make no contribution to long-term value of the blog and it’s PageRanking. That’s why a high bounce rate is not desirable.

    You will find that those who blog for an income are concerned about keeping their bounce rate down. They are focused on setting up their blogs so the bounce rate is low, enabling them to have an accurate idea of how many “satisfied” targeted readers they have, and what improvements they need to make.

    You will find that those who do not make an income from blogging tend to be far less concerned about whether or not their bounce rate is high or low. However, as they become more accomplished bloggers the light dawns and they recognize that high numbers of hits from one hit wonders are not valuable.
