Hide tags in Responsive Theme

  • Unknown's avatar

    I want to hide the tags at the end of every post. I want to keep them effective, but I dont want to display them after every post. I think it is annoying and creates a huge gap between posts. However, I would like to keep the “Posted In” active. I only want to HIDE the tag (not remove it, as I understand that it helps in search engines).

    Thank you.

    I am using “Responsive” theme in wordpress.com

    My blog: risebd.wordpress.com

    I purchased Custom Design for 30 dollars, and would appreciate a guidance into CSS. I don’t have any idea about it. Please help.

    Note that Tags are not essential for SEO purposes. Search engine spiders are focused on keywords in your content. See what See Matts Cutts of Google says here > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/03/01/revisiting-keywords-and-tags/ Tags and Categories are for your visitors’ use.

    Can you give me a link where I can follow this thread?

    If tags do not effect SEO, then how does it help? You said that it is for visitors. So how does the visit get helped by the tag?

    Click the “member” link under your username here in this thread. Also note the same link appears on the top right hand corner of every forum page Welcome risebd

    Any visitor can click a Tag or Category and locate all posts in the blog assigned to the same Category or Tag.

    To hide the tags and categories at the end of posts in the Responsive theme, add this to your Appearance → Themes → Customize → CSS panel:

    .post-data {
         display: none;
    }
