Hide title and tagline

  I’ve recently noticed that the site title and tagline was displaying on my website. I thought that previously had this hidden so that only the banner and menu displayed. I have now deleted part of the site title and all of the tagline. I’ve looked for information on how to hide these elements but they don’t seem to match with the interface on WordPress exactly (as in there seems to be a missing control tick box). Can you please help?

  The instructions in the support document you have directed me to (above) do not match my dashboard and menus – see screenshot below of where I’m supposed to see the check box option to hide my site title / tagline. It does not appear. I just checked whether the site logo features is supported in the theme that I’m using and just noticed that the theme has now been retired – so that might be the problem right there – I’m using a theme that is no longer being updated or supported.

  So yes, it’s probably best to change the theme to a newer one (Twenty Ten is already 11 years old, and a lot has changed since then), but if you prefer to keep it, you can go to My Site>Design>Customize>Additional CSS and add this piece of code there:

  #site-title a {
    display: none;
  }
