Hide titles within Orvis theme

    Hi Guys,

    Is there a way in the orvis theme to “hide the titles”?
    I’ve been told that each separate page of a site needs a title.. but didn’t like the way they looked on my site.. so at the moment I have 32 “untitled” pages, but I’m looking to reinstate the titles as I’ve been informed I shouldn’t have done that… and to be honest it’s a nightmare to find the pages i want easily in the menu because they’re all untitled..

    Any help in making the page titles not visible (but still functioning) would be amazing (CSS code maybe?)

    Thank you guys! Dan

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • HI Dan,

    Just to make sure, this is for all static pages on the site?

    It looks like you already have CSS for this in the Customizer:

    h1.entry-title {
    	display: none;
    }

    If that’s not working, can you point us to a specific page/pages where the title is still visible? Then we can take a look.

    Also note that your plan gives you access to both live chat and direct email support. You can reach those at any time by clicking the Help icon that appears bottom-right on all the My Sites pages, or else via the direct link at https://wordpress.com/help/contact

    Hi!

    I actually managed to figure it out by myself! Thank you for following up though!

    Any advice for meta-descriptions? As I can’t figure out how to sort that.. (is there a free way? There must be surely..)

  • We handle meta tags automatically on all plans, even the free plan, but you can customize them with a Business or eCommerce paid plan: https://wordpress.com/support/seo/
