  It appears you are using Hever theme for your site.

  Hiding the author information from posts requires access to CSS, which is possible only with the Premium plan and higher.

  varshasc, thanks for the help on this. i thought this might be the case after searching the forum, but wondered if someone had found a free way to block it. thanks!
