I’ve had a blog on WordPress for some time, and pay for domain name and to keep my content my own. I recently discovered the “group” mentioned in the title, who uses your name, content, images, everything and redirects users to their site using my content. So when anyone searches for my name by Google, etc. they receive this link http://5.hidemyass.com/ip-1/encoded/Oi8vcmVkaGFpcmNyb3cuY29tLw%3D%3D. I’ve written to the site to ask them remove it because it is violating my copyrighted content.
Is there anything from WordPress’ perspective I can do to keep people like this from doing so again/anyway?

There’s nothing we can do to prevent that because it’s source is on hidemyass.com.

Thank you for your reply, but that’s not true and it is not sourced at that website, which is only a proxy. I pay to have my content on WordPress, and I’ve never even heard of them before. My blog is my website, ad I wouldn’t hide it because it is a part of my brand and business.
As a professional writer and publisher, I know often copyrighted work may be uploaded by someone else illegally or content may be used without permission. It didn’t occur to me at first, but it is a DMCA violation for them to do so.
With any such thing, you can write an official takedown notice to them, which is what I did and actively followed up, and it was down within an hour.
Here’s an example of the takedown notice:
In accordance with the Digital Media Copyright Act, and pursuant to 17 USC 512(c)(3)(A), this communication serves as a statement that:
(1). I am the exclusive rights holder for the following title: “_____” or content.
(2). These exclusive rights are being violated by material available upon your site at the following URL: (where your content is located)
(3) I have a good faith belief that the use of this material in such a fashion is not authorized by the copyright holder, the copyright holder’s agent, or the law.
(4) Under penalty of perjury in a United States court of law (or your country of residence), I state that the information contained in this notification is accurate, and that I am authorized to act on the behalf of the exclusive rights holder for the material in question.
(5) I may be contacted by the following methods: (your email, telephone number or business address.)
I hereby request that you remove or disable access to this material as it appears on your service in as expedient a fashion as possible. Thank you for your cooperation.

It seems hidemyass either crawled your site or someone used your domain through their service and the search result got cached.
