Hiding author information
-
Separate thread, because this has nothing to do with my other query :)
I’d ideally like to hide the author information in post-info while leaving the rest of it intact, but I’ve no idea how to go about it.
(I’m very new to CSS, so please accept my apologies for getting all the terminology wrong!)
I know I can set the whole of post-info to display none, but I don’t want to get rid of everything, just the information about who posted the entry – all entries are posted by me and so it’s just wasting space!
I can see in the page source that there are span tags for class=”by-author” and class=”author vcard”, I guess I’m wondering if those can be hidden.
For a practical example, on this page:
…where it says “Posted by The Nixon Administration in Marv Johnson, Writing Credit: Berry Gordy”, I want it to just say “Posted in Marv Johnson, Writing Credit: Berry Gordy”… is this possible (hiding only selected parts of post-info) , or is it an all or nothing deal?
Thanks!

I used Google search and located this for you > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/hide-the-date-and-author-on-the-posts?replies=4#post-997989

Thanks Timethief, but no – I’d seen that and it doesn’t help.
(I’d assumed that it wouldn’t work the way I wanted to, and that on themes where post-meta controlled the information in question, using that would just hide everything as opposed to just the author credit – but in fact, when I tried it out, nothing happened at all :) )
