Hiding Flash elements on iPhone and iPad
-
I give up. I have been trying to figure out how to hide the embedded livestream.com player (which is unfortunately Flash) from the page it’s embedded in when someone is using an iPhone or iPad (which, of course, do not support Flash). I tried @media queries, but could not understand it/get it to work. The element is embedded using [iframe] shortcodes. Any help at all on this would be amazing! Thank you!!!

Hi there, on http://danllinehan.wordpress.com/, has no content with the exception of the about page, which is set as the main page, and it has only the standard placeholder text.
What is the URL of the site you are talking about?

sorry – thank you!
this is on http://www.peterbuffett.com/wordpress/
(I’ve only started working 1. Learning wordpress, so this page is a WIP.)
But note – I’ve removed the @media queries from the CSS because I couldn’t get them to work at all. Also, I want to hide everywhere *but* desktop, since (regardless of operating system) I can’t figure out how to get the size of the iframe to be responsive, anyway.
Thank you so much for any help!

Hi @danllinehan, and thanks for the link. It looks like you are using WordPress but you are not hosted here at WordPress.com. For self-hosted WordPress sites such as yours, I would suggest asking for help in the volunteer-based WordPress.org Support forum.
Also, have you talked with livestream.com about this? I can’t imagine that they do not have a non-flash-based solution given that there is no mobile flash which means no phone or tablet could view their stuff.
