Hiding 'Links' bar at the bottom of home page
-
Hi, another question on hiding things! i would like to hide the ‘Links’ bar that appears at the bottom of the home page of the blog site.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You should be able to simply drag it from your widgets area. If you still have your default widgets (each theme is different in which are default), then you will need to drag another widget into the widget area — even just a blank text widget — save, and then the unwanted widgets will disappear.
If you like the pages widget, then you can drag that back into the footer widget area.
Here’s the page on widgets: http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/

Ok I am having problems with the widgets. When I go into widgets on the dashboard it does not show that I am using any in the sidebars.
The problem is not widgets in our sidebars, but standard widgets at the bottom of the page on the main page. These include – discuss, get inspired, get polling etc etc.
Are we able to hide these standard widgets??

There are also no widgets currently showing as being used in the footer left, centre or right

Every theme has a default sidebar and/or footer widget display. Theses are not actual widgets. When we do install widgets of our own choice the default display disappears. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/09/28/the-no-widgets-paradox/
