"hiding" posts from showing on my home screen

I’m using the Spun theme. Although I want all my posts to be public, would like to ONLY show certain posts on the main home screen.

I use my site for 1) image heavy exhibition reviews and 2) scholarly essays. Ideally, I want the reviews to be what show up in circles on the main page bc there’s images. the essays I link to as a widget, but I’d like to avoid having just a plain pink circle appear on my home screen whenever i post a text heavy post.

can i filter what shows in the circle?

    help :)

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I will flag this to be moved to the themes forum, where more experienced theme-tweakers can help you.

    This question isn’t theme dependent.
The main posts page normally displays all your posts. The one way to do what you’re looking for is publish your essays as static pages instead of posts. The other way (since you have the Custom Design upgrade) is file the essay posts under an “Essays” category and use CSS editing to hide that category from the main page.
Note that CSS questions should be posted in the CSS forum, not the Support forum.
