Hiding tags from posts
-
Hi, I have been trying to hide tags from posts/pages and have gone to each post page to ‘screen options’ and then unclicked tags but they are still appearing there.
Help please!!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The “screen options” is where you set which modules you want to appear on a particular page, in this instance, the post editing page.
If you don’t use any tags, they won’t appear. There is a theme in which you can choose not to display the categories & tags under a post, but if you don’t use that theme, then the only way to hide them, as far as I am aware, is by purchasing the CSS upgrade and editing the CSS.

Screen options only applies to what shows up in the dashboard.
The only theme here that gives you the option to hide categories or tags on posts is the iNove theme (under theme options).
In some themes you can hide them if you have some CSS editing experience and buy the Custom Design upgrade, but not all themes have the markup (XHTML) and CSS to allow that. Sometimes you have to hide all the post metadata (date, author, comments link, categories and tags). Fortunately the theme you are using does allow them to be hidden separately. The following would be the CSS code to do that.
.tags { display:none; }Here are some links on the custom design upgrade and on editing the CSS.

Inove is the theme that you can hide the global tags and categories. It is the only one.
But if you use only pages, then you don’t have to worry about global categories or tags: only posts are can be tagged or catted… (categorized)
Global tags do help your blog in terms of being found by other wp.com blogs and by major search engines:

You asked about removing the tags. The only theme you can do that in is iNove. Other than that, you would need to purchase the Custom Design upgrade and then use the code that I listed above to hide them using CSS.
