Hiding Template Changes until Completed?

    Greetings!

I want to change my template and need to customize the new one. Is there a way to change my template and make the customized changes privately so that the new look doesn’t show until all the customizations are done? It looks really bad when things don’t match or are set up correctly when one is in process of making the changes while the site is live.

If that is not possible, the other thing I thought of is to create a new private blog where I would basically create the desired look on the new template and then paste that look into my current blog site. The question is…how do I paste the new look into the former one whilst maintaining all my content, etc.

Thank you in advance for you help!
    Amy

Why not just make your changes in the preview and not save them? There’s absolutely no sense paying for the CSS upgrade until you’re absolutely ready to go live. Just use the free preview and save the iterations that work.

If you tried the private blog thing, you’d need to buy the CSS upgrade for BOTH blogs, which would be a bit of a waste.
