Hiding the .wordpress.com part
-
Hi,
This is my first time creating a website and I am about to buy the WordPress.com Premium – annual subscription for €96. But I want to make sure that I can hide the .wordpress.com part of my domain after my purchase. So, I did not find the steps where and how I can do that on WordPress. Can anybody help me?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,

Buying a Premium plan or even a Personal plan will enable you to create a new custom domain address for your site.

Hi there,
Thank you for your quick response. I already have a domain which I bought somewhere else and then I wanted yo buy the mention subscription. But at the checkout (order summary) it indicates that my domain will be “namesurname.wordpress.com”. And I do not want the addition “wordpress” there. I’d like to hide that later on. So, it’s just “namesurname.com”. Is that possible?Thank you.

https://lysannfengler.wordpress.com/ will be the underlying address (which would reactivate if you didn’t continue with your upgraded plan) but your custom domain either mapped or transferred to that WordPress.com site would be what people would see.
