Hiding Title on Home Page

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello I am using the Dyad theme and would like to hide the ‘title’ section on my home page only. I have a header photo with my title in it, so I don’t need it in title section also. I currently have the word ‘HOME’ listed there so that people can navigate to the home page.

    Thanks,
    Kristin

    Hi Kristin,

    Are you trying to hide the Home link at the top left?

    I also notice you’ve not entered a site title on the Site Identity page of the customiser. If you don’t want the site title to appear it’s better to hide it with CSS than not enter one. Search engines in particular use it when they index your site.

    Try adding it back in on the customiser screen then hiding it with this CSS:

    .site-title {
    	display: none;
    }

    Yes I am trying to hide the HOME link at the top left, but only when you are on the home page would I like it to be hidden. When you are on any other page of the site I would like it to still be there so that you can navigate back to the main page. Is that possible?

    That makes sense, here’s how:

    body.home .site-title {
    	display: none;
    }
