  Will wordpress.com support uploading high definition video in the future?

  I believe so (in fact I think it is already supported but I can’t confirm that right now).

  Confirmed: high definition video is already supported by the WordPress video player. Just upload your video and it works.

  Yes, WordPress does support HD video format. I would not suggest uploading HD videos through wordpress because it takes up a huge amount of space! Use third party video hosts like http://www.vimeo.com to save you the space on your WordPress acc.
