High resolution Pictures

I have about 20 pictures of low resolution images stored on the website. However, when I try to upload 24 mega-pixel images, with the right file type, it is always very slow and ends up with an error. I tried deleting the rest of the images before uploading the high resolution images and it was easy and fast. The answer to this problem cannot be do delete the rest of my images.

Typically, image uploading speed depends on the size of the image files and the speed of your internet connection. It has nothing to do with how many images are already stored on your site, and you’re way below the storage capacity anyway.
How large are the images you’re uploading, and are they .jpgs, .pngs, or other? Are you uploading them in a batch, and if so, can you please try one at a time? What’s the exact error message you’re getting?

They are around 5.64 MB and they are .jpg. I upload them one at a time and this is what it says ‘An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.’ My internet connection is 40mb/sec.
