The blog you point to above gas the Rounded theme and that theme is coded to depict all links with that “smear” you refer to as highlighting. So I guess if you want links depicted that way on your blog you will have to switch from Vigilance to the Rounded theme.

Who cares what people say? The complainers apparently don’t know that hundreds of thousands of people using the wordpress.org version, the wordpress.com version, and the Blogger version of the Rounded theme. I say: Go ahead and use the theme you want to use.
-
Or you can simulate that by switching the editor to html and changing the link code from this:
<a href=[etc.]
to this:
<a style="background-color:#HEX;padding:2px;" href=[etc.]
Where I’ve written HEX, you write a hex color code; pick your color here:

butttttt….panaghiotisadam…im alittle confused…will it make it so that it will have like the “extra info” and “highlight” my words?
-
<a style="background-color:#HEX;cursor:help;color:#HEX;" title="INFORMATION_THAT_POPS_UP">THE_WORD_READERS_SEE</a>That will give you the “extra info” but we can’t use code that will make the color change as the cursor hovers over it. (It was designed into the Rounded theme.)
note: background-color is what Panos showed you above, the color behind your word.
note: after “cursor:help” the color is what color your text will be. -
@timethief,
Thanks. It’s nice to know that she took your advise above:“I say: Go ahead and use the theme you want to use.”
