Highlighting Older Posts

I’m not sure if this is possible, but I’ll ask anyway.
I’ve only really attracted readers over the past few weeks, before then I have about 4 weeks of postings (they tend to be short stories). I’ve tried to categorize so as to open the archives, but I don’t want to overdo it, and it isn’t working. It puts me off when I see 30+ categories on someone else’s blog.
So outside of extended categories, re-posting, or even having a clumsy new post with url’s of a few old posts, if I have a handful of posts that I think my readers might enjoy, how might I redirect their attention to some them on my front page?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello,
Here are some ideas https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/best-way-to-display-older-posts?replies=12 -
Great help, but one problem. I added a page called ‘Select Nonsense’ as you suggested in that post, but none of the links I added worked.
This is the content of the page below. Should I move this to support, or am I missing something really obvious and quick?
Here’s are a few earlier posts you probably didn’t want to see either

umm.. ok, whenever I enter a link it just won’t post it here or on the page then.. that’s.. really weird.. I click link, enter the url, add a name and then update.

Here’s how to create links in posts and pages. When I read what you deceribe it’s possible that you have a browser related issue.
Exactly which browser and version of it are you using?
Is your browser version up to date? You can upgrade any browser version here.
Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies?
Have you tried using the browser with all extensions or add-ons disabled?
Do you have another browser your can try?
