Hello,
I would recommend you to visit w3schools.com where you can find a detailed guide on how to use CSS (that describes how HTML elements should be displayed), more specifically CSS Border Properties to have the desired outcome (vertical border between two specific columns and border to a specific cell):
http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_border
I hope it helps!

hello
http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_border the site is giving following message –
Service Unavailable
HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable.but i got the help as follows –
1) if we wish to set a border to a table, add the count as follows to given line –</body></tbody>
</table>
above creates empty table without having cell properties..2) to have border at all four directions to a cell (though table is created or not) use as follows –
<tbody>
<tr align=”CENTER”>11 </tr>
</tbody>
</table>above creates a cell having 11 as a text and square border around the said cell.
thank you for help Gina.

Hello,
I’m sorry the w3schools link currently does not work, I am getting the same error now.
These are correct,
means the table’s border would be dark moderate blue if the value would be bigger than 0,
11 means this cell’s border is 2px very soft blue.
You can vary these values and there are specific border properties you can use
border-bottom
border-left
border-right
border-topto have vertical border between two columns as you wanted, for example.
I hope cssbasics.com does not let us down :) here you can find detailed information about the border properties: http://www.cssbasics.com/chapter_13_css_borders
